Glasses
What are the different types of glasses?
There are many types of glass: glass, water glass, white wine glass, red wineglass and champagne glass, and cups (water glasses, whiskey glasses ...).
What are the differences between a wine glass and a water glass?
The water glass is the one that has the largest container, it can be on foot or without foot (goblet); As for wine glasses, they are only glasses with foot. The current trend is to put a water cup with one or more wine glasses on foot.
Tips for cleaning crystal glasses:
Crystal glasses can be washed by hand in hot soapy water using a bowl so as not to break the glass, then they can be rinsed in water added a little alcohol vinegar. Avoid the dishwasher for crystal glasses.
What type of glass can be used for white wine? the Red wine ?
The glasses imagined to taste the red wines are relatively wide. To reveal the aromas, it is necessary to be able to turn the wine without spilling half. Their size is reasonable to allow the wine to better oxygenate and to develop aromas. The opening is quite large: you can slide your nose there.
In general, white wine glasses are wider than red wine glasses. A white wine does not need to twirl in the glass to reveal its aroma. It is also a question of oxygenation: some appellations lose in nuances in contact with air. We therefore choose glasses whose opening is smaller, which concentrate the aromas.
